New 3d Movies Releases! Your Thanksgiving free movie list is only two movies long, but what movies! Unlike Halloween (that I offered that you simply list of 100 free scary movies here), Thanksgiving requires a different twist. Neither more likely to be specific to Thanksgiving, but they relate to some themes in the holiday. Frankly, I can enjoy these free movies for Thanksgiving and any day in the year.

Big oil company propaganda which has a heart! Just the free movie we need for Thanksgiving! This 78-minute semi-documentary from 1948 is one with the most lyrical American films available. In 1994, The Louisiana Story was selected for preservation inside United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress to be "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." It is the story of the Cajun boy and the family, living around the bayous in such a way of life we can barely imagine.
The boy's family rents land on the oil company, which comes in, drills, and instead gives off everything exactly like it was, clean and unspoiled except that the family includes a little more money. (Yes, it was funded by the Standard Oil Company.)
The boy spends almost all of his time on his narrow boat (pirogue), floating over the bayous, prime snake and alligator habitat, along with his pet raccoon. He never wears your life preserver or shoes... doesn't also have a cell phone to contact case he gets having problems. There is not much story, only a celebration (in these stunning black and white photography that you can well wonder what the big deal is about color) of your way of life which is no longer around.
All of the actors were amateurs, as well as most, this was their only film. As of April 2007, J.C. Boudreaux, who totally boy, was residing in a FEMA trailer with his wife of fifty-five years, after Hurricane Rita destroyed their house. (source). A grayscale silent film that ends which has a woman being burned alive? Oh, yes, what exactly every family needs at Thanksgiving. But, I have three good reasons for including The Passion of Joan of Arc on this pair of free movies for Thanksgiving.
First, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was ever made. Second, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was preserved. The director Carl Theodor Dreyer (more) died convinced that the last copy had been destroyed. In a amount of weirdness that sounds a lot more like a movie than the truth, a nearly complete print is discovered in 1981 in a janitor's closet of a Norwegian mental institution.
