All Animated Movies 2006! Your Thanksgiving free movie list is only two movies long, but what movies! Unlike Halloween (that I offered that you simply list of 100 free scary movies here), Thanksgiving needs a different twist. Neither more likely to be specific to Thanksgiving, however they relate to some themes from the holiday. Frankly, I can enjoy these free movies for Thanksgiving or for any day from the year.

Big oil company propaganda which has a heart! Just the free movie we require for Thanksgiving! This 78-minute semi-documentary from 1948 is one with the most lyrical American films ever produced. In 1994, The Louisiana Story was selected for preservation within the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress to "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." It is the story of a Cajun boy with his fantastic family, living for the bayous in ways of life that individuals can barely imagine.
The boy's family rents land for the oil company, which comes in, drills, and leaves everything exactly like it was, clean and unspoiled with the exception that the family carries a little more money. (Yes, it had been funded by the Standard Oil Company.)
The boy spends most of his time on his narrow boat (pirogue), floating across the bayous, prime snake and alligator habitat, along with his pet raccoon. He never wears an existence preserver or shoes... doesn't even have a cell phone to call in case he gets struggling. There is not much story, merely a celebration (in such stunning monochrome photography that you may well wonder just what the big deal is approximately color) of your way of life that is certainly no longer along with us.
All in the actors were amateurs, and for most, this was their only film. As of April 2007, J.C. Boudreaux, who totally boy, was surviving in a FEMA trailer together with his wife of fifty-five years, after Hurricane Rita destroyed their house. (source). He had the opportunity at fame in the movies, but that he stayed where he was from and apparently grew up with an appreciation of family (a married relationship of over fifty years) reflects why I consider The Louisiana Story a proper free movie for one of our most family-friendly holidays.

A monochrome silent film that ends which has a woman being burned alive? Oh, yes, what exactly every family needs at Thanksgiving. But, I have 3 good reasons for including The Passion of Joan of Arc on this pair of free movies for Thanksgiving.
First, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was ever produced. Second, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was preserved. The director Carl Theodor Dreyer (more) died convinced that the last copy was destroyed. In a little weirdness that sounds much more a movie compared to the truth, an almost complete print was found in 1981 in a janitor's closet of your Norwegian mental institution.
Finally, I am grateful that individuals can watch this magnificent film, on many lists with the greatest films in recent history, for free online at Gloria.tv, a Roman Catholic video site.
Maria Falconetti (more), who plays Joan, suffered a psychological breakdown throughout the making of this film, and he or she never made another film. Pauline Kael (more), a notoriously demanding film critic, said that Falconetti's performance "may function as the finest performance ever documented on film."
